Hello there! 🙂

So today, I am going to post about the various beauty uses of olive oil. Extra Virgin variety of the same is recommended as it is non-comedogenic, that is, it won’t clog your pores or break you out!

1. It can be used as a hair mask. You an use it alone or with other oils like coconut oil or castor oil or almond oil. However, while washing it out remember to apply lathered shampoo on dry hair as otherwise it might be tough to get it out.

2. You can use it as skin moisturizer, alone if the climate or weather is cold; and mix it with your regular moisturizer if your skin is oily or the weather is not as cold. Oilier your skin, lesser must be the quantity you use on your skin.

3. You can apply it as your lip balm, or with your lip balm. Apply it at night if you are not cool with showing oily lips outdoors.

4. It can be used as a makeup remover. Put a little on a cotton bud or cotton swab or wet wipe, and use it as your regular makeup remover.

5. You can also use it with coconut or jojoba oil as an under eye night cream. But first make sure that it does not break you out.

6. Apply it on your elbows or hands or feet to shun dry skin and moisturize.

7. Before sleeping, take it on a cotton bud, apply it on your eyebrows and eyelashes ( as a eyeliner- for upper lashes ) sparingly for conditioned brows and lashes.

8. It can be applied on the lateral sides of your nose to remove any dryness and condition the skin.

9. A little bit of it can be mixed with Aloe gel and applied after waxing or threading or plucking.

10. It can be applied on your nail cuticles to make them soft.

DIY Hair Mask! Eliminates “FRIZZ” and leaves back “HEALTHY SOFT HAIR”!

Hello there!

My name is Twinkle! And I am an average college going girl.

I am into beauty, personal grooming and makeup a lot.

So, I decided to blog about my views on beauty tips, makeup, personal grooming and more.

Here goes the first one!

I know that many people are all into using yogurt, olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil etc as hair masks. They do work. But, personally for me, this mask has worked the best. It has been a week since I used it and I can still see and feel its effect on my hair. It  feels soft and healthy!

Shikakai, Amla (Indian Gooseberry) and Reetha are some Indian herbs which are used by many Indians for healthy hair. They repair and condition the hair.

I have always been a beauty fanatic and try out almost all the promising looking shampoos and conditioners. Till now, I have really loved only two: Wella’s Enrich and Organix’s Pomegranate and Green Tea conditioners.

So, looking at how much I was spending on other useless hair products, my dad recommended me these alternatives. I didn’t try these until I spotted their powdered mixture in my local departmental store. You can get their separate powders and also the mixture of all in any Indian store. You can either get the herbs, dry them and powder them or you can buy readily powdered herbs/mixture from any Indian grocery store.

How to use it?

1. Take the powder, according to your hair’s length and volume, in a bowl.

2. Mix water, or yogurt.

3. You can add 1-2 tbsp of your favorite oils like coconut oil. I like adding Coconut Milk and Navratna’s Extra Cool Oil. I love how the oil gives a cooling sensation!

4. Mix, mix, mix and apply.

5. It might be a bit tricky to get this mask out of your hair as the powder’s particles might be a little gritty to wash out. But with 2-3 attempts at shampooing and patience, you might get it all out.

6. Follow with your conditioner. Air dry your hair!

This mask REALLY works for me. However, the results may vary from person to person.

Also, some Shikakai powders “might” stain your hair dark brown. Mine didn’t, but some may, if they have Mehndi mixed in them. So, if you have highlights, you might want to look into that.

That is it. Please let me know if you give it a shot and what results you noticed.

Till next time!

Hugs! 🙂
